Dear America,

My heart exploded a couple minutes ago. I don't know how many miles away I am from you right now, but I have never felt closer or more proud to be American.

I can't wait to come back to you.

Love,
Monica

It was so heartlifting, seeing the many and various faces in the Chicago crowd, or around Rockefeller Square and in Harlem, or on Spelman College campus, or in Washington--pure happiness in all of those faces. What a great country we can be/are. It's such a grace, for facing the next hard work in the years ahead.

Wasn't Obama's speech just perfect? Sober, glad, grateful, ready for the work, asking for the help of those who did not vote for him because he can hear their voices, too. Incredible. I'm so glad you got to see it on tv, just as we were seeing it, Honey.

We can't wait for you to come home.
